Digital Drawings

These unique digital drawings begin when LEAH SIEGEL, camera in hand,
wanders through isolated environments, reading the landscape
as a narrative text, as frames in a film. Remote vastness provokes
the image gathering, allowing time and space to shift.
Later, back in the studio, she connects with the stillness of the images
through her technological collaborators — the computer and software.
She applies algorithms, personal mark-making, mapping, and
drawing techniques to the photographs, and extracts visual images
from source code. The resulting images – these digital drawings –
are for you to enjoy, to explore their beauty, and perhaps
experience an altered way of seeing the world.
